I tried

Right now I am struggling to keep going with this fitness thing. The last time I tried running and getting fit, I injured my foot, then pretty much couldn't do anything for 9 months. Now my knee is bothering me. Dr. couldn't find anything, next step is physio. I don't know. I am not a runner, have never found it to be something I enjoyed but do it to lose weight. So doing it when it hurts makes it even harder. On top of that the scale has not moved for a couple of weeks, pretty disheartening.

Well, I did try to go for a run this morning. The rest of my family is out camping. I had to come in early yesterday morning to bring Dancia in to Emergency, she is very sick. Thus I spent the better part of yesterday at the dr. or with a sick little girl. In the rush of bringing her in yesterday I remembered my running gear, but forgot my knee wrap. I tried to run today, but my knee was really bothering me so I did a short loop around the block and home. On top of that I did not like the fact that Danica (although she is 11 1/2 and is dead asleep) was at home by herself while she is so sick.

Let's hope I can keep going as it does feel good to be fit, I just wish the scale was my friend!

  1. Aww.. (((Laurel))) So sorry about your knee! I feel your pain! What about doing something lower-impact? What about doing some DVD's indoors? That's helped me lose all i've lost... hang in there!! You're doing GREAT!!

Hope dd is feeling better soon!

  2. Laurel, I hope Danica...and your knee!...gets well soon!

I know I mentioned weight training the other day, and it really may make the difference you need. Cardio is simply not enough to lose weight. Frankly, I can't run--no bladder control...I know, TMI! I do have an eliptical, so that is low impact cardio and I lift weights. I'm changing up my routine right now with the Power 90 video series that my massage therapist loaned me. I can tell it is working muscles I haven't been using!

Maybe you need to change up your routine to give your knee a rest and shock your body into losing.

Good luck and let me know if I can help!
